The holiday season is a time for friends and family to spend time together. Our area has no shortage of things to do to celebrate the holidays with our loved ones. Here are a few ideas of things to do for Christmas events happening around town.
Holiday Festival of Lights
From now until December 31st the Charleston County Holiday Festival of Lights will run from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Experience the drive threw lights and then park your vehicle and go visit Santa’s Village, the Winter Wonderland, and the light shows throughout the grounds. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop and get a gift for a loved one or a souvenir for yourself.
Ice Skating on the Point
Charleston Resort and Marina in Mt. Pleasant is hosting a synthetic ice skating rink and Winter Wonderland experience to enjoy. The rink is open Thursday through Sunday 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm until February 2023. There will also be fire pits, hot cocoa, beer selections, and select experiences for rent.
Sippin’ Santa Pop-up Bar
Another Christmas event happening is Beach Bum Berry is hosting a Sippin’ Santa Pop-up located at Bonny’s Hideway off of King St. from now until December 31st. With fun weekly themes and a Winter Wonderland New Year’s Eve Bash, the pop-up also has holiday cocktails, and Christmas-decked-out decor, and serves food from brunch to dinner.
A Christmas Carol
Now playing until December 21st, The Christmas Carol is playing at select dates and times at the Historic Dock Street Theatre. This production is brand new and features colorful new sets, costumes, and a new holiday score.
Charleston Christmas Special
For the 27th season, Charleston Music Hall brings the Charleston Christmas Special starting on December 15th, dates and times will range until the last show on December 22nd.
Firefly Distillery Hosting 3rd Annual Holiday Market
On December 17th Firefly Distillery is hosting the annual adopt and shop market. In partnership with Holy City Holiday Market and local dog rescues, the event will feature goods from local artisans and makers as well as adoptable dogs and dog supplies. Going on at the same time is other pop-up markets at different locations around park circle.
Stingray Hockey: Holiday Market Festival
On December 18th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing arts center, there will be a Holiday Market with local vendors presented by Harris Teeter. The S.C. Stingrays Hockey team will also be hosting a food drive for the community to bring in canned foods that will be donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank.
