As business owners and professionals, our customers are the lifeblood of what we do. It is impossible to build a business without someone to do business with. Honestly, you need to love your customers. But how do you do that? What are the best ways? We took this month’s blog to share some ideas for how to show love for your customers.
Remember the Important Dates
One of the best ways to engage with your current and potential customers is to acknowledge their important days. Birthdays, business anniversaries, and receiving awards are all occasions to remember and acknowledge. The additional benefit is that this becomes a great way to make contact and, potentially, get some repeat business from a grateful customer.
Engage With Them on Social Media
Business owners often do business with other business owners. Those professionals, just like you, are creating content and posting on social media networks like LinkedIn. A great way to foster continuing dialogue and relationship with them is to engage on social media. Read their content. Respond to it with your thoughts. Reference them as authorities in their field. All of those will help them see your appreciation and feel some for you as well.
Never Underestimate the Handwritten Note
There is a reason that almost every business or sales coach recommends you send customers a handwritten thank you note. It’s a tried and true classic. There is no better way to express your gratitude to new or existing customers than to take a moment and write a note. Write these notes when you have a new customer or send one during the holidays to thank them for working with you. You just can’t beat a classic.
Ask Them What They Want/Need
It never ceases to amaze us how many times a business owner is surprised to find out they didn’t offer what their customers wanted. Why were we surprised? Simple. We never asked. Maybe the single easiest way to show your appreciation for your customers is to just ask them what they want and how you can do better. Take the time and acknowledge what they’ve said. Then, put it into practice.
